Spring haddock fishing is underway – anglers are pulling in plenty of haddock and even a halibut here and there. Tuna Hunter is now fishing every day, heading to favorite bottom fishing spots on Stellwagen Bank and Jeffreys Ledge.

Striped Bass are migrating into Cape Ann waters now – there are schoolies in the rivers, and sizeable stripers follow them up the coast. Striped bass fishing charters will be in full swing by Memorial Day.

And don’t forget that bluefin tuna season opens June 1st. Tuna Hunter is ready to go. There are plenty of sand eels and other bait on the fishing grounds ~ life abounds, which bodes well for great early season giant bluefin tuna fishing.

Never mind the snow – Spring is here!  That means spring haddock fishing is right around the corner.

 Tuna Hunter  opens the 2016 fishing season wit hhaddock fishing starting May 1st.

We are hard at work now spiffing up Tuna Hunter for the coming season. We look forward to being on the water hauling in haddock.

As of May 1st Tuna Hunter is fishing every day – for haddock, pollock, cusk. As soon as the striped bass migrate in inlate May, we will be running striped bass charters.  As of June 1st we can start  bluefin tuna fishing charters.

Pineapple Gang – Haddock and Pollock, and Cusk and Sharks Oh My!

The Pineapple Gang joined Tuna Hunter  for their annual fishing trip – with no cod this year there was plenty of action anyways, landing haddock, cusk, sharks and of course there is always pineapple

Bluefin Tuna Madness is On! Fat Boy by Jeff and Jack

If you have not heard, October Bluefin Madness has struck – bluefin tuna arrived off Gloucester in numbers not seen in years, following awesome schools of herring like we have not seen in years.

Of course Tuna Hunter was there, as Captain Gary is “tuna hunter” in every sense of the word.  Tuna Hunter will be Bluefin Tuna Fishing every day, weather permitting, through November.

This 600lb fat boy was landed by the awesome crew of Jeff (“English”) and Jack (Special K) a crew we are honored to have aboard.
