Gloucester bluefin tuna fishing is going strong – just ask Kevin Tunney and David Prychka of Mays Landing NJ.

On a Tuna Hunter fishing charter this team tagged three bluefin, all 180 pounds. Fish are hitting combinations of baits, depedning on the time of day and tide. Tuna Hunter has an arsenal of techniques and adjusts tactics throughout the day to produce fish.

The fourth tuna smoked a Penn 50 reel.  All fish were fought standup -awesome angling battles!

Giant Bluefin Tuna by the Germans and Polish

There are plenty of giant bluefin tuna out there on the banks, and this Tuna Hunter Fishing charter was lucky enough to hook into this 400 lb giant on a ‘50 – so these got to fight this bluefin standup, using our Smitty and OHO fighting belts.

On Tuna Hunter  we are applying many techniques, adapting to the conditions of the day, to ensure we hook into bluefin one way or another.  We use a mix of rod and tackle sizes, we use a mix of techniques and locations throughout the day.  Trolling, jigs. live bait, kite, balloons, whatever it takes to get the bluefin to take the hook, and then get him to the boat.

Nick “the Real Estate Guy” Annual Gloucester Fishing Charter

This year’s annual “Nick the Real Estate Guy” Tuna Hunter fishing charter was not productive as a Gloucester tuna fishing charter, but did turn out to be a productive cod & haddock fishing charter .

Always a good time, always good fishing and great to see good friends keep in touch through the years.  As for this year’s fishing, cod was strong, but the bluefin eluded us, though conditions looked good in the morning with jumping bluefin in several areas. We had live bait, the baits looked great sitting beneath the kite, all systems were go – just no hungry stupid tuna took the bait.  That’s fishing!

To wrap up the day, we switched gears to do some bottom fishing, and quickly were into sizeable cod, haddock and pollock and cusk. 

Bluefin tuna are here in force, in all sizes.  Tuna Hunter will be fishing through October for bluefin tuna , stripers and cod & haddock.  As the tuna action heats up, dates are filling in.  You should be then next one hooked up!

Atlantic Bluefin Tuna for West Coast Team Salty

Team Salty had an awesome tuna charter aboard Tuna Hunter Fishing Charters.  Justin and Stu, from the west coast in California, wanted to see some east coast bluefin tuna action.

Tuna Hunter put Team Salty right on the meat, traveling to Stellwagon Bank to schools of jumping bluefin tuna.  A combination of bait, jigs and lures, and the kite, of course, the Tuna Hunter crew tempted this bluefin to the hook on a light rod (as opposed to the giant rods).  Justin and Stu battled the bluefin standup using our favorite OHO and Smitty fighting belts.  fine angling!  and some fine well-earned sushi.

Bluefin Tuna Fishing like this makes one want to fish the Atlantic over the Pacific!

The fishing grounds are healthy with bluefin tuna of all sizes, jumpers and big marks, plus plenty of cod & haddock for some bottom fishing action.

Airasian Striped Bass Fishing Charter – 48 inch Striper!

The Airasian family annual fishing charter was a beauty this year.   Large stripers  prevailed, hitting chunks and live bait. These guys are seasoned anglers, which paid off angling fish up  48 inches to the boat on light tackle.  Fine catch!

Bluefin tuna fishing on the banks is great! as the Nardone charter on Tuna Hunter Fishing Charters can attest.

Tuna were jumping as Tuna Hunter approached the banks.  The captain stopped, sent out some bait, raised the kite, and wham, the fight was on. Everyone got to fight the fish, finally getting him to the boat. An awesome battle for all.  Kite fishing is a Tuna Hunter specialty. The hit is incredible – you’ll be hooked once you do.

TUNA TUNA TUNA Catch is on!

The bluefin tuna catch is on!  The Gloucester bluefin tuna fishing bite is on.

The Boyslton crew can attest to that, as they battled two 200 pound bluefin tothe boat.  One was retained for the grill, one lives on to grow into a giant.  The hit is both cases was awesome – huge splash on the surface, followed by a screaming reel.  Anglers traded off battling these beasts as nin these cases we fought the fish from the rod holder.  (In similar situaitons, we can fight tuna standup using 50’s – an even more intense battle!).

Flo-dell Group Gloucester Striped Bass Bonanza on Tuna Hunter Fishing Charters

The Flo-dell group had an awesome day striped bass fishing out of  Gloucester, MA aboard Tuna Hunter Fishing Charters.  The stripers rose to chunks of bait at one of our favorite spots just off the Gloucester shores.  Action held steady, keep these anglers busy enough to wear everyone out by the end of the day.

Charlie’s Last Chance – Bass Slamming Bachelor Party

It was Charlie’s Last Chance, and he chose to go after some tail aboard Tuna Hunter Fishing Charters – fish tail, that is.

This evening striped bass fishing charter proved very productive and a great time was had by all, well, except for the fish.  Large stripers came in for chunks and provided a good fight on light tackle.  All anglers, Charlie included, were rewarded with fine striped bass fillets for the grill.
